Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta; One year after His Distinguished exit

June 12 for a lot of us progressive politicians is memorable as the day an unclaimable mandate was given to Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola. For us, this is more or less our Democracy Day. However, June 12, 2014 will remain green in my memory, not only for the earlier described unfortunate event but another unforgettable experience; the demise of a friend, colleague, big brother and Committee Chairman, SenatorDahiru Awaisu Kuta, (1950-2014).

Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta is dead but his memory remain indelible in our memory and that of others who interacted with him in his lifetime. He was humble and lived like a true Comrade that he was, he was also objective, detribalized, dexterous, meticulous, matured and dedicated to National Duties when he served as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing the good people of Niger east Senatorial District in the 6ht and 7th Senate of Nigerian.

As much as we wish his death is reversed, one must wake up to the reality that we have lost a friend who worked across party line and characteristicaly fondly addressed me his Vice -Chairman as his Co-Chairman. A close ally whom greatly inspired me. My prayer is that God will oversee all he left behind, console his family and friends who will daily miss him. Adieu, my dear Distinguished Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta, Niger East Senatorial District (1950-2014).
