Demise of Obalufe; Omoworare condole with Ife.

The Chairman of Senate Committee on Rules and Business and Senator representing Osun East senatorial district Babajide Omoworare has described the transition to glory of the Prime Minister of Ife and the Second in command to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Samuel Folorunsho Obasola Omisakin as unfortunate and a another big loss to Ile-Ife.

The senator said this in his condolence message to the entire Ife people made available to us by his media assistant Tunde Dairo. May I explore this medium to extend my condolence to the entire Ife land, Iremo quarters, the Orunto royal compound and the Omisakin family on this royal transition, Senator Omoworare said.

He described the monarch as a respectable father and a rare breed of royalty, “he is an embodiment of everything called Ife from language, to dressing to carriage and preservation of our unique culture” Omoworare said.

As the kind of Iremo where I hail from, the late Obalufe is not just my king, he is my father. I cannot forget his steadfast fatherly role and support when the political terrain was absolutely hostile to progressive politicking.

Obalufe is a referred, respectable and educated elder who will be forever remembered for his combination of rich traditional value with western flavour in his administration of Ile-Ife.

According to the Senator, “This is one loss too many, going by the not too long departure of Ooni Sijuwade, whose demise we are yet to recover from, it is absolutely unfortunate and traumatising to lose another father in the person of Oba Samuel Folorunsho Omisakin to the ancestors”.

The years of Oba Samuel Folorunsho Omisakin on the throne will remain indelible in the history of Ile-Ife. His developmental drive and commitment will live long after his departure, he said.

“It is my prayer that God Almighty will grant the monarch eternal rest in the bosom of Christ, oversee all he left behind, protect our royalty and chiefdom and move Ile-Ife forward”, Omoworare said.
